Tax return/stimulus check

I filed my taxes on 1/27/20 and it was accepted and should be direct deposited.  I have not received my tax refund as of yet.  Will I receive the stimulus check as a direct deposit even if the IRS has not issued/deposited my tax return as of yet?

If you entered your DD info on your return, that should be how you get your stimulus payment.

Will I get or even though I have not received my tax return for this year yet?

    April 12, 2020

    It depends.

Both payments are not directly related to each other.  One is for your tax return while the other is a stimulus payment related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

You can check the status of your tax return refund by using the following link.

The IRS is planning to start issuing stimulus payments in the next few days.
