Taxes rejected

My taxes were rejected for someone using my sons social. I have to print them out and refile. I want to know if my bank information  on the rejected return will stay for the stimulus check from the recent plan passed or if I have to wait until I mail in. They had said it would take over a month after mailing in to even look at it. I did not file 2018 taxes so they can’t go off that.

The bank information on the rejected return is, like the return, rejected. The IRS does not have a record of it.

If you did not file in 2018, then the IRS has no information on you to use for the stimulus payment. The paper filed 2019 return will not update your records until it is processed. Generally, mail-in or paper returns take about 6 weeks to process, however, the IRS is not processing paper-filed returns at this time. It is impossible to guess how long it would be before your return is processed. Because your return is using a contested SS number, it could take months.

You could take your son off the return, file electronically, and then file an amended return with your son on the return. I do not know what this would do to your return so it is merely a suggestion. You would not file the amended return until they processed the original return. This generally means until after your refund has been deposited or your payment processed.
