Question

The letter 4883C might be a scam since they ask for your parents names. Call the IRS directly, don't call the number on the letter.

The letter has the same phone number as on the irs official website. Though the is still there that it could be a scam. I never filed taxes before because of being on social security, I didn't feel I need to work, then my son was born and a year later I found a job, I'm still at that same job. Would hate to have someone steal my money and identity. Life is hard work and it's messed up when some stranger makes it hell because they are lazy and don't want to work for the extra money they think they need. They just run scams finding easy targets and thinking of new ways to mess up people lives

Got one of those letters since I did my sons because he is incarcerated Have never received his check you can't call the IRs because it is to busy with calls how do I found out?
