Question

The routing and account number, submitted with my tax filing, confirmed by my files and turbotax, is not what the IRS has on file. What now?

I have submitted my federal taxes, with correct banking information. Confirmed by my copy of the tax filing, and by turbotax. I called the IRS to find out what's taking so long, and they have incorrect banking. So incorrect, in fact, that they refuse to tell me the information they have on file. They have different banking info than I gave them. It has been changed. How do we rectify this?

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  If so, the banking information sent to the IRS is the information for the third party bank that gets your refund from the IRS.  The IRS sends the refund to that bank.  The third party bank takes out your fees, and they send the rest to your own bank account.

Do you happen to know the routing number of the third party bank? I'm trying to help my bank locate the incoming transfer, but if it's not from the IRS, we're in a pickle.
