Trying to file an amended return

Hello,

I e-filed my Federal and California State Tax Returns on Jan 31, 2024. After filing, I received an additional W2 for a small amount. I went into TurboTax and amended my Returns. However, the TurboTax software is not letting me e-file again. I purchased TurboTax from Costco and installed it on my laptop (PC).

Could there be a glitch in the software or do I need to wait for a certain period of time before I can e-file again?

The Form 1040-X for amending a 2023 federal tax return will not be available until 02/15/2024.

You are trying to amend too soon. You need to wait for the returns to be fully processed. And you need to wait for the 2023 Form 1040X to become available in mid to late February. Do not rush to amend or you risk confusing the IRS and delaying your return more.
