Question

TT asked if I want to file a 1099-div from last year in this years return but i'm pretty sure I already filed that form in my return for last year. How do I check this?

It prompted me under the "Other tax Situations" section. I reviewed my Robinhood markets 1099 from from last year that I filed and confirmed that it did include a 1099-div. How do I double check if I already filed it to determine if I need to include it in this years return?

You can check your 2023 return to see if those dividends were reported there by either opening your 2023 return or reviewing your printed/saved copy from last year.

Bottomline is that if you don't have a 1099-DIV for 2024, then you may not have any to report for 2024. Check with your finance company to see if you have dividends for 2024.
