TT pd #TTWCA142202085. 2020 returns are nearly complete. Would like to electronically complete & file them. Unable. Incomplete version is in TT Doc folder. Please help?

Turbo Tax emailed a notice my returns were not filed but are nearly complete. 3 weeks later TT emailed an apology for that "communication error". But I had not filed and the returns are not filed. What can I do to electronically complete and file those 2020 Returns?

Prior year returns cannot be efiled thru the TT system any longer ... you must print, ink sign and mail in the return.

When using the downloaded version to complete the 2020 return go to the FILE tab and choose to mail in the form return then the correct forms & mailing instructions will be presented in the PDF file.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.

Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

Mailed returns take six to nine months for processing, so do not expect quick results.
