TT said my NY State taxes were accepted I received an IT201 from IRS saying they need me to send them my w2's. Is this letter real & why did TT say accepted if it isn't?

That is very possible. Accepted simply means that your return passed the initial inspection for basic information. Once the IRS reviews your return, they may need more information from you and will send you a letter. See more here: My return got accepted. What happens next?
