TTs 1040 filing misread by IRS

I tried to submit this as Case [social security number removed] but TT lost it....

We have been recurring customers since the 2016 tax year...and beginning with 2018 have been making "Qualified Charitable Donations" direct from our retirement accounts.   Unfortunately, your data submittal of our return has been misread by the IRS system.  In November we were dunned by the IRS....and their demand showed that they had our net taxable figures for IRAs and Social Security (cells 4b and 5b) entered in their system in the cells for gross (4a and 5a).   Naturally that did not match up with our 1099s.

TTax's liaison team needs to help keep your many users using QCDs from having this recurring problem.   As an old Info Tech hand, I suspect that the letters "QCD" you have added outside named cells but shown in our printed .pdf file has upset the IRS processes.

We are unable to provide direct service on case numbers or accounts in this public forum, which is why these "personal" looking numbers must be masked.  Another agent will be happy to assist you with answering the question shortly.
