Turbo Tax Account Updated - Fees Confirmed Paid from Refund

Sorry---but that really only means that TT knows they are getting paid ---because you chose to pay from your federal refund.  "Payment completed" does not mean the IRS has approved your refund or issued it yet.   You have to watch the IRS refund site to see when the IRS issues your refund.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2023 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

That doesn't make sense. It finally just updated to show an update and says Congratulations, payment complete. And says payment was completed and paid out of my refund. The TT rep I talked to over the phone said that it was paid in full from my refund and that the automatic payment I had set up to come out later on in May is being cancelled as it's been paid.

When your file your tax return successfully and you choose to pay your fees from your Federal refund, the TurboTax program considers the fee paid, even though the federal refund has not been released yet. This is why you see "Payment Completed".

As soon as your return is accepted by the IRS, your info shows at SBTPG, it should have your expected refund amount and it will say that they have not received your refund yet. Once they have your return it will update and tell you when they received it, what they received, what they deducted and when they sent it to your direct deposit account.
