Turbo Tax charge but no refund!

I’m getting my turbo tax charge deducted from my refund. However, it’s been two months, I still haven’t gotten my refund, and now Turbo Tax is going to take it directly from my account. Why would this company take it from my account when I asked it to be deducted from my tax refund? Which I still have not had deposited AND there is NO INFORMATION regarding the status of my efile! Pretty sure Turbo Tax is making me pay them for messing up my refund. No idea how to go about this.

Was your return accepted?  If it was, the processing of your tax return has nothing to due with TurboTax.  The IRS is the one delaying the processing of your return & refund. It is taking the IRS longer to process returns since they are closed. They are still processing e-filed returns but the 21 days (business days) is not the standard now due to Covid-19. The IRS is not processing mailed in returns at this time.

All you can do now is keep checking the IRS website, Where's My Refund, the website updates once a day.

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

When you choose to pay your TurboTax fees from your Federal refund & there is a delay in the processing of your return/refund, then per the Refund Processing Agreement, TurboTax can deduct the fees from your bank account.

Why was my bank account auto-debited for TurboTax fees?

  • The IRS website says my refund was deposited in April, I went through all my bank statements...nothing plus it was less than half of what turbo tax said and said I had to upgrade which was over $100, they got paid while not only did mine go from almost $1,100 but to $400 and I didn't even get that

@streva-whitley

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

They did this to me and my return is still processing. I am trying to figure out where it says on the page where we select fees that they can do this (since all binding agreements need to disclose all information up front) but they can't provide it to me. I definitely will not be using TurboTax going forward. This is dishonest and unprofessional. I learned that they have been fighting to keep making taxes more difficult to file straight through the irs so people will have to continue to use their service as well. Seems pretty low life to me and I will be rolling up my sleeves to do my own taxes next year and not giving this company another dime.

Turbo tax said they would do my taxes for a total of 242.00 but my federal tax of 281.00 was intercepted by the government for arrears of child support I now keep getting notifications from turbo tax to pay 242.00 or it will taken from my bank account.  I don't have it. Didn't receive the money for federal tax. Isn't there a way to reduce my fee or get it dropped all together?? Please anybody who knows help me figure this out.

Did you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund?  Is your refund taking an unusually long time to arrive?  Or was your refund seized to pay a debt you owed? if so, you signed an agreement that says TT can withdraw its fees from your account.  TurboTax would have sent several emails to you before they took the money out of your account.

TURBOTAX SAYS:

How do you justify debiting my account?

The provision is spelled out in the Pay With My Refund Agreement, which you agreed to when you opted to pay with your refund.

In addition, by clicking the "I Agree" button below, you electronically sign and authorize Intuit (through its third party processor) to debit the TurboTax Fees, Additional Products and Services Purchased and any applicable sales tax from your bank account number identified in the Agreement below, in the event that you do not receive a tax refund that is sufficient to pay for them.

How can I see my TurboTax  fees?
