Unable to print tax returns

I currently am unable to print either federal or my South Carolina Tax return with no updates available.

Here's a workaround I found. In TurboTax under the File menu, select Preview. A small window will open showing your return, but the only option is to Close. However, if you hover your mouse over the return, there is an open in Adobe Reader icon just to the right of the magnifying glasses. Click that and Reader opens. From there you can print.

Thank you for all of your help, especially kd_idaho having a similiar issue as I am.

I still had the same printing issue and finally contacted the TurboTax. They could not figure it out immediately either but agreed to get back to me when a solution is found. I will share it when I get a reply. By the way, mine is a TurboTax Premier desk top version.

Yes, a previous post provided a work-around that enabled me to access a PDF of the return and print it.

When I create a pdf file to save or print the 2025 CA state return, the first ~6 pages are fine but the remaining several pages are blank. Any ideas?

What version of TurboTax are you using, and what type of operating system (WIN or Mac)?

If you are using a Desktop version, you can choose File from the top menu then Print, and you are provided with options to save to a PDF, or create a Print Preview version. You can choose to print just the return, with schedules, or include all of the worksheets.

The first few pages in the California return package will be the filing instructions, and ES vouchers if you created them. The Form 540 itself is 6 pages long without the schedules and worksheets.

To print an individual worksheet from your return in TurboTax Online, before you file but after you pay for your product, you can go to Tax Tools, then Print Center. Choose to print all forms and worksheets, and save to PDF. You can then open the PDF and choose what worksheet to print. Or, you can use your device's Print Screen function.

To print your tax return worksheets and schedules after you file, please follow these instructions:

Log into your TurboTax account
Scroll to the bottom of page, click Add a State( you are not adding a state, this is just to get in the right menu)
Over to the left, click Tax Tools dropdown
Click the Print Center
Click the Print, save or preview this year's return
Check Federal returns and/or State returns
Select Include government and TurboTax worksheets (optional)
Then,click View or print forms

If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created. TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.
