Want refund advance but don’t have w-2

TurboTax is not ofering refund advance loans at this time.   In the past several years, there have been refund advance loans offered during January until mid-February.  But the loan has to be offered to you when you are filing---you cannot apply for it.  And you had to agree to have your refund put on a credit karma card.  We have no information at this time as whether the loans will be offered in January 2024.

As for preparing a tax return with a pay stub----that is a bad idea.  Your pay stub will not match the W-2 that your employer will issue by the end of January.  Wait for your W-2 and prepare your tax return with the correct information.  The IRS will not begin to accept e-files until at least late in January.
