Was there a delay processing certain types of tax returns? My return was accepted on 1/31/20 and the refund tool is still saying "processing" and its 3/3/20.

There was a delay in returns claiming the EIC/ACTC credits but the IRS has started processing them.  "Being processed", means the IRS must first process your return and then approve your refund. Even though the IRS issues most refunds in less than 21 days after they receive your tax return, it's possible your tax return may require additional review and take longer.

If the IRS needs any additional information from you, they will send you a letter.  Otherwise, you can check the IRS website "Where's My Refund" once a day to follow the status of the processing of your return.
