Solved

We already filed and received our refunds. The only correction was adding the mortgage premium insurance payment in box 5 for $2k. Do I need to amend?

If your AGI exceeds limits listed below; you don't need to amend. Once your adjusted gross income (AGI) exceeds $100,000 ($50,000 for married filing separately) the deduction is reduced.

And the mortgage insurance deduction is eliminated once your AGI surpasses $109,000 ($54,500 if married filing separately).

How do I amend to claim mortgage insurance premiums (corrected Form 1098)?

Thank you for your help. Our adjusted gross income, married filed jointly, was $122k. It shouldn’t be much of a benefit to us, correct? I was more worried about being penalized for not original reporting it since we just got it.
