We filed and got 1200 and 2800 stimulus for 2020. We had a child in august 2020. We didn’t ask for adjustment for our child. How do we file an amendment for the stimulus?

Did you claim the dependent as a qualifying child on the return ? Look at the 1040 ... which box is checked in line 4? the first or second ?

How much did you already get? The first Stimulus was 1200 for each spouse so it would be 2400. The second Stimulus was 600 per person so 2 would be 1200. Only the first 2 apply to your 2020 tax return. So for a new baby you should get another 1100 (500+600) on 1040 line 30. Did you get an amount on line 30?

The new 3rd Stimulus is 1400 per person so that could be the 2800 you got. You don't include the 3rd one on your tax return.
