Question

What if I already e-filed my taxes and just received an email stating "the form 8915F is now available"? Do I need to amend my return?

Yes, if you repaid some of all in 2021.  That must be reported on the 2021 8615-F form.  It is in the 1099-R interview (even if you did not receive a 1099-R for 2021).

You did NOT repay any in 2021 then you do not need to do anything now but must repay it all in 2022 or pay the tax on the entire amount.

If you meant that you received a qualified disaster distribution from your retirement account in 2020 that you are including in income in equal parts over three years (rather than all in the original year of distribution), you will need to amend your return to include the second payment.  Please see What is Form 8915-F Qualified 2021 Disaster Retirement Plan Distributions and Repayments?
