There is no fee for direct deposit.   If you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund instead of paying TT upfront with a credit or debit card, then you will pay an EXTRA $40 ($45 in CA) fee to have a third party bank receive your refund from the IRS, take out what you owe to TT, and send the rest to your bank account.  AVOID that by paying before you file.
