If you e-filed your return in January, it'll stay in Pending status until the IRS starts processing the backlog of returns.

After January, e-filed returns generally sit in Pending status for 24-48 hours before coming back as either Accepted or Rejected. Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer.

So there is nothing to be done at this the IRS is still processing the backlog of returns so it will take the longer than the usual 24-48 https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/4193097

I am experiencing the exact same thing. I "fixed" my return and re efiled it using Turbo tax and it has been pending for over a week now. I am curious how you handled your situation. Hopefully you aren't still pending. Thank you in advance for your time

My goodness would you “Experts” please stop copy and pasting the same asinine message? Stop ignoring the specifics of this issue and stop suggesting that people whom submitted their return through February 1st-now and beyond with have a turn around time of minutes - 48hrs. And that it’s only those whom submitted their return before February 1st that are now a part of a backlog and not subject to the first in first out scenario that the email from you guys actually suggests. With “welcome to the front of the line ____”

I submitted 1/26/21, been pending since. Meanwhile a relative files 2/08 and is accepted around 2am on 2/12/21.

This is disheartening.

Last year, my return was "pending" for several days but ultimately rejected. Over 48 hours is not a good sign. I hope you get some useful assistsnce on this. It sucks to be kept in limbo like that.

It varies, but normally it takes 24-48 hours. Also, the identity-protection safeguards implemented by the IRS in recent years may account for longer wait times. Eventually, you will receive an email letting you know whether or not your return has been accepted or rejected. TurboTax FAQ "What does Pending mean? "states, "Pending simply means that your e-filed return is on its way and that the government hasn't accepted or rejected it yet.

Sometimes state returns stay in Pending for several days or even longer. If you contact the government or try to look up your refund status while your return is still pending, don't be surprised if they tell you "no record found." This is normal; until the government starts reviewing and processing your return, they won't have any record of it."

One of my family member's TurboTax status says the return is still pending, but has already gotten their refund. I think there might be a glitch.

Please know that is the IRS that has to approve your return, not Turbo Tax. No one person has the same tax situation, so it can vary, but normally it takes 24-48 hours.
