Question

When amending return, I get to the screen "We're ready to file your taxes" and select Continue but nothing happens. How do I actually file the amended return?

I followed all instructions to download turbotax amend and entered all pertinent info. I got to the review screen and couldn't see the state return to print unless I used the tools menu at the top and I couldn't continue to the e-file part for New York.

What tax year are you trying to amend? If it is a past year return the only way to file it is by mail. Past year returns cannot be e-filed. They have to be printed, signed and mailed.

Are you amending your 2021 return? Did you file a State return in 2021? if so, and you downloaded TurboTax Desktop 2021 and transferred your 2021 tax file, your state return should be there also.

Any changes you made to your Federal return should also flow into your State return, but you should be able to step through the state interview anyway.
