Question

When filing on TurboTax I received a federal return, but owed to the state. This was wrong-as I have now checked on another site. I need to only file state now. How?????

The other site also said that my state return was less than what turbo tax said. This will also be an issue. I'm extremely frustrated. Do I just wait and file next year, hoping that it irons itself out?

There should be no difference between the two sites, assuming you entered everything consistently on both. But some states are still making tax law changes that are retroactive to 2020. What is your state?

My state is NY. The only difference when I filed was that on the other site I put everything in by hand. Whereas Turbo does it for you.
I also noticed on Turbo that my standardized deduction was negative 8,000 and realized that should never be negative. But I font know how to go in and manually change that since I already filed my federal return.
