When should I change tax w/holding w/ my employer while going through a separation/divorce until July 2025?

My wife requested a divorce in July 2024 and we're currently separated until divorce is official in 2025 as per NC guidelines. I'm trying to confirm when and if I need to change info w/ my employer from married to single, head of household, etc so that I file correctly in 2025 for 2024.

The filing status you put on your W-4 is only used by your employer to calculate what your withholding should be. It has no bearing on what filing status you actually eventually use when you file your tax return.
