Where do I change preference so that tax refunds are applied to next year's return?

You can apply some or all of your 2020 tax refund to next year's taxes. When you prepare your taxes in 2022, the amount you applied will show up as a credit.

To apply your refund ta next year's taxes:

  • Login to your account.
  • Select  Federal from the left menu.
  • Go to Other Tax situations.
  • Scroll down to Additional Tax Payments and click Show more.
  • Select Start next to Apply Refund to Next Year
