Where do I mail my Amended taxes?

Do I send the printed return directly to the IRS, Or is there some local place I'm supposed to send it to? Or is there just one IRS address? If so What is that address and when should I send in my amended taxes?

IRS filing addresses depend on your state of residence.  Here's a handy link to the IRS "Where to file" page.  Just click on your state and you'll see the filing addresses for the different forms (including the amended return 1040X):
