Why am I being asked if I itemized deductions last year - I filed my taxes with turbotax, so why don't you have this info and why do I need to look it up?

If you answer "yes" that you did itemize last year, the program will ask you follow-up questions during the interview process. For example, "do you own a home?" "did you have medical expenses last year?" Answers to these questions will prompt the program to ask additional questions. For example, "did you receive a 1098 Mortgage Interest Statement?"

You missed my point: since I filed with turbo-tax premiere last year, your software should know if I itemized or not. It is very inconvenient for a user to have to go find records and answer such questions manually when the software (Turbox) should have this history
