Why am I not able to get my stimulus check by direct deposit when I was able to get my tax refund check by direct deposit?

When the stimulus check is not sent by direct deposit, but the tax refund check is sent by direct deposit, there may be some difference in the account between when you last filed the tax return and now. 

 

If the account has not changed, the stimulus payment would be direct deposited.

 

To check what account is on file with the IRS, see Get My Payment. 

 

Right now, the only way to change the account on file with the IRS would be to file the 2020 tax return.
