Why are my taxes showing I have or tried to adopt when I do not have kids? Wo t let me delete

There may have been a mis-entry at some point, but to delete any adoption expense or credit carryover information in TurboTax Online:

1. Open TurboTax Online
2. Select Tax Home in the left pane
3. On the  Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the Deductions & Credits box, then select Start, Continue, or Pick up where you left off
4. On the Your tax breaks page, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of You and Your Family
5. Select  Start or Revisit to the right of Adoption Credit
6. Answer  No on the Did you pay any adoption expenses in 2023 or earlier? page 
7. Remove any irrelevant information in any pages that generate

If that doesn't work, then, with TurboTax Online open:

1. In the left pane, select the Tax Tools dropdown
2. Select Tools
3. In the pop-up window Tool Center, select Delete a form
4. Select Delete next to Adoptive Child Worksheet, if it's displayed
5. Select Delete Selected Form
6. Continue, then select Form 8839
7. Select Delete Selected Form
