Why did the IRS remove my recovery rebate credit of $1400 from my 2021 tax return when I did not receive the funds in 2021?

The IRS has information that they sent the stimulus to you.

Go to this IRS website for your tax account and see if the account shows the stimulus payment - https://www.irs.gov/payments/your-online-account

 

If you have checked your bank account in the March - May 2021 time frame and there is not $1,400 deposit from the IRS then you can have the IRS to start a trace on the payment.
