I filed my taxes on the 17th why is it still pending

The IRS is not accepting returns until Feb. 12th. TurboTax lets you file early but your return will sit on their servers until the IRS opens their filing system. You cannot change your return or get it back. You will have until Feb. 12th or after to get an accepted or rejected notice.

because the IRS will not open e-filing until 2/12/2021. your return has not been submitted to the IRS but is sitting on TT servers waiting for the IRS to open efiling.
