Why is my refund saying I owe federal, state some other thing I never got a letter saying i owe anything

The tax return will ether show a refund, or tax due. Sounds like this year you will owe.

There is never any letter involved. The only time you get a letter is if they are going to keep your refund for a debt you owe.
