Why would the state (CO) reverse the ACH payment that I made to them?

I paid my State Income Tax via ACH last week, today I looked at my account and saw the payment had been reversed and deposited back into my checking account. Why would this be?

Ask the state.   The state does not give any information to TurboTax after you file your tax return.

If it was only in the pending stage of the transaction (still reduces your available money), but not actually confirmed for withdrawal, then Colorado just did not follow through with the final steps to take the money out. It may just come out  again in a few days.

However, if there are 2 transactions, one where it comes out and another where it is put back in, perhaps they found an error for your benefit adjusting the liability. If that is the case you will receive a letter illustrating the difference. If you are concerned either way, I would advise calling them at 303-238-7378.
