No, you will not pay again to amend unless the change you make requires an upgrade to a higher version of the software. However, if you are asking about amending a 2023 return, it is too soon. You cannot amend yet. You have to wait for the IRS to fully process your original return, and then you can amend. The Form 1040X you will need to use will not be available until late February.
