Will I still get my stimulus money if my taxes for 2019 has not been approved and I didnt file in 2018?

You should, but it depends on when the IRS accepts your 2019 return. It is unknown when the IRS is going to review 2018 and 2019 returns to determine eligibility for the stimulus payment. If you didn't file in 2018, and you didn't file your 2019 return in time for the IRS to review it for the stimulus, then you can still receive it in 2021 when you file your 2020 return. The stimulus is actually an ADVANCE on a credit on your 2020 return. 

 

I recommend filing 2018 ASAP, as well. Here's how to begin 2018:

 

You'll need to purchase and download the TurboTax software for PC or Mac, as TurboTax Online and the mobile app are only available for the current tax year.

 

After installing the software, open it and follow the onscreen instructions.

 

Prior-year returns must be paper-filed, as e-filing is no longer available. We'll walk you through that process when you get to the File section in the software.
