Is the date on SSN when issued for first time will be same as the second time (re issued) card? What will be the difference between both cards? Does it mention anywhere that it is re issued?

Thank you

I hadn't heard of a re-issued card either...but I didn't research at all.   I know for a fact that when you order a replacement card, the date on it is the date it was printed.  I ordered mine the end of June, its got 7/03/2017 printed on it.

Or is "re-issued" even a thing?  Maybe replaced and re-issued are the same....I did not see anything on the SSA site about "re-issuing" a card--only replacement.

I put "re-issued card" in the search box on ssa.gov and all it came up with was gender change.  So maybe that is a reason for re-issue. No idea what they do if there has been identity theft, etc.....Not sure if changing name causes re-issue or "replacement."  I think I am sticking to original answer of ask SSA.
