Will The State of Alabama automatically take the money owed from my checking account? Last year I had it on automatic debit and forgot to change it this year.

I filed a few weeks ago and money has not been taken out. Am I supposed to write a check?

TurboTax Deluxe Online

Look at the Filing Instructions page that printed with your State Return.

It should say whether you elected to pay your Balance Due by direct debit, or would mail a check later.

If you opted to mail a check, a Payment Voucher would have printed with your state return to use when mailing your payment.

If you elected to use Direct Debit, and you didn't specify a payment date, the default date of 4/15/2021 may have been used, so your payment won't be deducted until after that date.
