Withdrawal of funds to pay tax

My federal tax return, filed using Turbotax, was accepted by the IRS on 4/13/2021. However, although the withdrawal of funds to pay the amount owing was supposed to occur on 4/12/2021, the funds have still not been withdrawn from my account.

The IRS is backlogged and is not able to process returns as quickly as they have been able to process them in normal times. They do want your payment and will debit your account when they process your return—it just might not happen on the date you requested. Keep the funds available in your account and watch for the withdrawal.
