I input the wrong 1098T for tuition (wrong year), but the tuition did not affect my taxes anyway, so do I need to bother inputting the amount when I am sent the correct tax year 109T?  (I could not claim tuition this year and had to take the standard deduction and got all my taxes back).

If you are certain that your wrongly entered did not affect your taxes, you would not need to file an amended return.
