1099-B Boxes 8 and 11, no place to enter the information.

I received 1099-B's for "proceeds from broker and barter exchange transactions" that only have information in boxes 8 and 11; there's no other info for any other boxes. These 1099-Bs are for futures trading.

There is no where to enter data for 1099-B's boxes 8 & 11 on the TurboTax site, and the 1099s provide no information for the other required boxes.

I was on with 4 different TurboTax experts for over an hour this morning (Tkt# [phone number removed]) and none of them could figure it out.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

To enter your Form 1099-B box 8 and 11 information in TurboTax Online:

Open TurboTax Online
Select Tax Home in the left pane
On the Hi, let's keep working on your taxes! screen, select the dropdown on the right side of the Income & Expenses box, then select Work on other income or Pick up where you left off
On the Your income and expenses screen, scroll down and select the dropdown to the right of Less Common Investments and Savings
Select Start or Revisit to the right of Contracts and Straddles
Answer Yes on the Any Straddles or Section 1256 Contracts? page
If you made any elections, please select as appropriate on the Any Elections? page

Continue entering all information as appropriate.

It worked!

It would be great if you could enter these instructions in the TurboTax Questions database. I could not find anything about this, and neither could any of the TurboTax folks I spoke with.

Anyway, many thanks for clearing this up.
