1099-NEC issued under EIN

I did a one week event for a company that required me to get an EIN. They, of course, issued the 1099-NEC under that EIN. The IRS website states that to be considered self-employed the activity must be regular and continuous. Am I ok simply adding that 1099-NEC to Schedule 1 using my SSN rather than creating a Schedule C?

    1. Go to federal>income and expenses>all income>>show more
    2. Go to other common income> Start
    3. Form 1099-NEC>Start
    4. The first screen will ask for a description  (something like 'one time event')
    5. Next screen. Does one of these uncommon situations apply? Indicate this is from  sporadic activity or hobby (this is not common).
    6. Finish the section
    7. This will now be listed as other income but will not be classified as Self-Employment income nor will you be charged FICA taxes.
