Question

1099 won't print until e-file has been accepted.

This is the first time I've ever needed to do 1099 NECs for subcontractors, so I used the Quick employer forms.
It's very annoying to learn that  I can't print out the 1099 until the E- file has been accepted which might take 2-4 wks  (10 days left to 1/31 deadline).
Presumably I need to generate some paper to mail to my subcontractors before the deadline.  Do I need to use the fillable PDFS from IRS.gov?

And then what about the 1096? Or is that no longer a requirement now that I've E-filed?

I'm sorry if this question is somewhat redundant, but I haven't seen answers that help me.

This may be a somewhat redundant question, but I haven't yet found an answer that applies to my Situation so

You should be able to print 1099NEC for your sub contractors.

Form 1096 and W-3 are not required for e-file. Quick Employer Forms only supports e-file with the SSA and IRS. Please do not send any of these forms to the IRS, as this will generate duplicate filings. These forms are simply for your records.

    Ah. I Got it.
I finally saw that the print button deposits the printable item in a new browser tab.
    Thanks for your help.
