1120 Federal tax return _Home office Deductions

Hi,

I am using TurboTax Business to file 1120 form. The software says for home office deduction, using personal return 1040's Schedule C. But since all earnings are reported on 1120, how could I enter home office deduction without company's earnings on Schedule C?

Thanks,

Wayne

I'm assuming you mean you are trying to report Form 1120S and as the shareholder you are trying to claim the home office deduction.  An S-Corp is a pass-through entity and while it reports income, it is not taxed at the entity level but passes through to your personal return.  If you qualify, you can claim the home office deduction there.

If you are indeed trying to file Form 1120 for a C-Corp, you are not entitled to the home office deduction.
