Question

A CPA prepared my taxes last year. On Form 8829, they have Carryover of Unallowed Expenses to 2021 on lines 43 and 44. Where do I put those numbers into my 2021Turbotax ?

The carryover of the Operating Expenses showing on Line 43 of the prior year return go on Line 25 of the 2021 return. 

 

If you go through the entire home office section, it will calculate your current year deduction.  On the screen immediately after that, it will ask you if you have expenses that were not deducted in a prior year.  That is where you enter it.

 

If you are in TurboTax Desktop, switch to Forms and then scroll down the list of forms to Form 8829 and then enter the carryover amount on Line 25.
