Accountant disappeared, and I don't know if he e-filed my SCorp returns

My accountant prepared 2024 SCorp returns (Federal and California), and I signed the e-file authorization on  February 28. But then I never heard from the accountant again, and I have been unable to contact him. I don't know if he e-filed my returns or not.

I have used this accountant for many years, and nothing like this has happened before. Maybe he is sick. He is a solo practitioner, so there is no one else I can contact to find out what happened to him.

My IRS business tax account (on the IRS website) does not show that the 2024 return has been filed. But I don't know how long it normally takes for returns to appear on the IRS website.

It is now April 2, and if the return was not e-filed then it is now overdue.

What should I do now? Is there a way I can tell for sure if the return was e-filed? Should I file a return with TurboTax, even though it might be a duplicate? Should I file an extension? Should I wait to see if something appears in my IRS business tax account, or if the accountant contacts me again? Something else?

Only the IRS/CA would have info if the return was filed. Don't bother trying to file an extension. It's past the due date.

if practical, have you tried going to his office?

You can try calling this IRS number
