Amend a filed 1065 return to make it a final return

I recently filed a 1065 for 2024 but did not indicate that the return was a final return. However, the return should have been a final return. I have researched this topic and all of the reseach indicates that a 1065X needs to be filed. However, I have read the instructions and looked at the form and I don't see how to indicate that the return should have been a final return. Can somebody provide assistance? Thank you

After you open the amended return (you should not amend the return until the original is completely processed) you just need to go through the company information again. After reviewing all of the screens with information about the partnership you will come to a screen that says "About your business" with a series of selections on it. The first one is that this is the final return. Change that answer to yes and it will check the box on form 1065X for you. Then you can submit the return.
