I am part of a small corporation owned by multiple people.  We each contributed an equal amount of money to the business to cover expenses.  Would this money - owner's investment - be considered taxable income to the business (and reported on Line 1a of Form 1120)?

No.

The shareholders' investment in the C-corp is not taxable income,

It is reported on the Balance sheet - Schedule L on line 22 - Capital stock or line 23 - Additional paid-in capital.
