Yes it's possible to have a Schedule C and claim expenses if you receive a W-2 also. The W-2 will go on your personal return, while the Schedule C is for your business or contracted work.

To add a W-2(TurboTax Self-Employed):

1. Go to "Personal" at the top of the screen

2. Select the "Personal Income" sub-tab

3. Select "Start/Revisit" next to "Wages and Salaries"

4. Select to add a W-2

To Get to Your Self-Employed Business Expenses:

1. Select "Business" at the top of the screen

2. Choose "Continue", then "I'll choose what I work on"

3. Select "Start" next to "Business Income and Expenses"

4. Select "Edit" next to your business name

5. Scroll down to Business Expenses
