Check bounced and replacement checks issued after calendar year. Do I report 1099 for the checks bounced?

Some checks were bounced in December 2022 and I replaced the checks in January 2023. Do I report the 1099 for checks bounced in 2022 or 2023?

Yes, you should report the total payments you made, or attempted to make in this case, during the calendar year 2022.  The payer is required to report when payment is issued not cashed.

See Am I Required to File a Form 1099 for more specific information.
