Hello,

I run a small art/craft business.  I am donating time to a public library to teach a class on my art to the community.  Normally, I charge to host these kinds of classes.  Am I able to write off any of the expenses for doing this class for free?  Materials, transportation costs, time/expertise, income I normally would have made, etc. ?

When you volunteer for a recognized charitable organization or non-profit, you can enter your expenses for mileage, materials, supplies, etc., but never anything for your time or expertise or income you "could" have earned.   You are volunteering for a public library---not sure if that will even meet the criteria to be considered volunteering for a charity.
