Question

EIN or SSN for issuing 1099s to my subcontractors?

Hello!

I am the owner of a single-member LLC. I had three subcontractors last year to whom I paid more than $599.  I issued them 1099s using my EIN to ensure my SSN was not being sent out to folks I don’t know well. Can I still file my personal incomes taxes under my SSN, or should I use my EIN for this year’s filing?  Does the IRS need to connect my subcontractor 1099s to my tax return - and, if so, will that happen if I use my SSN instead of my EIN for my personal tax filing?

Thanks so much!

As a SMLLC  you file Schedule C in your 1040. The EIN is listed in the Sched C.
