For filing 2022's taxes, I will have a simple consulting (1099MISC) business. Do I need Premier or H&B to file a Schedule C?

You can use the installed version of Premier since the desktop versions contain all of the forms.

Use H&B if you want more guidance.

If you buy the Desktop CD/Download program you can even buy Deluxe.  All the Desktop programs have the same forms.  You get more help in the higher versions.   For the Online version you can enter Self Employment Income into Online Deluxe or Premier but if you have any expenses you will have to upgrade to the Self Employed version. Or use any of the Desktop CD/Download programs.

And it is now a 1099NEC for non employee compensation, ie: independent contractor, freelance etc.  They split it off of the 1099MISC a couple years ago.  But actually you can just enter it as Other self employment income or as Cash or General income. You don't need to get a 1099NEC or 1099K. Even if you did you can enter all your income as Cash. Only the total goes to schedule C.

Is this your first time filing with self employment?  I can give you more info on it.
